I was feeling large with the new rubber so i thought a trail ride to my hotrod buddies place in Trego would be nice. I want to ask him if he can help get these rear foot pegs off.

I don't know what i was thinking but the last mile and a half I jumped on the great Wild River trail and crossed the bridge into Trego. Bad move, the only vehicle on the other side of the bridge in the big ATV parking lot was an unmarked black Suburban. Of course he is on me right away with his lights on. I am on the Wild River Trail and that trail is for ATV, UTV and snowmobiles only, dual sport motorcycles are prohibited and I knew that. DA!

After getting yelled at very nicely and polite I continued the ride always staying within the law. It really was surprising how many firelane trails i knew about but haven't been on them for years are fantastic (bad) trails. Today was like a rebirth of sorts.

Time to get her on the rack long term while I do the major electrical and steering damper work.

Some brilliant engineer decided to put this raised ID stamp right where the precision slide bearing surface is on the part. It took a lot of filling to fix.

Cut some wires drilling holes so I soldered them back on with shrink tube.

I see why the rear light would not turn out :| A one-and-done design approach.

For Baja racing I want minimum weight to start with. Check this! Tail light, brake light, license plate light and turn signals all in one, plus the tiny holder for the plate. This may not be strictly street legal but I'm betting I will never be called on it, especially if I use the lights. The weight is a fraction of the original lights. The stock license place light alone I swear weighs over a pound, as much as this whole thing. But of course the blinkers don't blink anymore, the capacitor discharge thing I'm sure :|

Installed some inexpensive knobbies to wear out while I'm dialing the bike in before the race.
Shoot, the sprocket that I ordered is the wrong hole size. I think I specified DR350 when I ordered it, maybe the DR350S has a different wheel hub or something???
The stock DR350S gearing is 14/43 . After I rode it the gearing seemed too high for Baja racing in my opinion. For Baja racing I want to run high but first I'll try something lower. I'm trying 15/48. This brings me right between what the ratio of the DR350 and the DR350S gearing. Sounds perfect but we will see.

Pile of glorie! I'm going to bring this to work and weigh it. I'm shooting for twenty pounds.

A $12 LED flasher relay, I thought it was worth a try, they both have only two wires.

Yeah! we are flashing with LEDs front and rear now. I still have lots of stuff to do to the wiring for the race electronics power station ect but everything I didn't tare off is still working
Hang on, there's more fun!
